
Simon Pegg
Simon John PeggĀ (né Beckingham; 14 February 1970) is an English actor, comedian and screenwriter. He came to prominence in the UK as the co-creator of theĀ Channel 4Ā sitcomĀ SpacedĀ (1999ā2001), directed byĀ Edgar Wright. He and Wright co-wrote the filmsĀ Shaun of the DeadĀ (2004),Ā Hot FuzzĀ (2007), andĀ The World's EndĀ (2013), known collectively as theĀ Three Flavours CornettoĀ trilogy, all of which saw Wright directing and Pegg starring alongsideĀ Nick Frost. Pegg and Frost also wrote and starred in the sci-fi comedy filmĀ PaulĀ (2011). Pegg is one of the few performers to have achieved whatĀ Radio TimesĀ calls the "Holy Grail ofĀ Nerd-dom", having played popular supporting characters inĀ Doctor WhoĀ (2005),Ā Star TrekĀ asĀ Montgomery "Scotty" ScottĀ (2009ā2016), andĀ Star Wars: The Force AwakensĀ (2015). He stars as Benji Dunn in theĀ Mission: ImpossibleĀ film seriesĀ (2006āpresent). He provided the voice of Buck inĀ Ice Age: Dawn of the DinosaursĀ (2009),Ā Ice Age: Collision Course(2016), andĀ The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (2022).
